Anytime a friend or a relative comes to visit me here in the Philippines I always make sure to take them to a little mom and pop restaurant near my school. So far each person I have taken there has gone crazy about one of there special dishes. I don't know what other patrons call it but I call it White sisig.

I have friends that have gone back to the states that still talk about it and how much they miss it. I also had one friend order white sisig everyday for lunch his final week here in the Philippines before going back abroad. By now you maybe thinking I'm over hyping it but I can assure you it lives up to all the hype.

Working in a rehab clinic you would think everyone is in great physical health, I mean, it is a Physical rehabilitation clinic right? Wrong! With the demands of helping every patient get better mentally and physically you sometimes forget to take care of yourself. You tell your patient to make better choices when it comes to eating, physical activity and giving up vices. But somewhere in the back of your mind you are also telling yourself the same exact thing. I mean you do have to lead by example right?

 This blog has been on my mind since I moved to the Philippines and now 6 years later I'm finally starting it. As I sit in my living room floor thinking of what to write for my first entry, I think its fitting that I start it off whit my Dad. Since I was a kid my brother and I always wanted my dad to cook rather than my mom. My mom can cook but my dad was just on another level. He really loves to cook.
